Oktoberfest Accommodation 2012
Oktoberfest accommodation usually needs to be booked well ahead of time if you’re wanting to secure anything more than a basic dorm. Usually the best hotels within walking distance of the festivities are booked up more than a year ahead of time. For that reason it’s often just easier to hand over your accommodation planning to an established tour operator who knows the ins and outs of accommodation in Munich for Oktoberfest.
To secure the best spots, Thirsty Swagman pre-books accommodation for party revellers years in advance so that it’s available when you’re ready to book. Then we throw in to the mix an experienced tour guide to help you find the best watering holes.
In 2012 there are three main tours with available accommodation:
- 3 night tour (two date options, contact for details)
- 12 day tour (3 Oct – 15 Oct, 2012)

What else do you need to know about Oktoberfest? If there’s one thing there is absolutely no shortage of at Oktoberfest; it’s beer and food. Outside the Oktoberfest beer tents are endless stands of must-try, mouth-watering foods that are perfect for a short break between Steins.
There are masses of stands selling fish burgers, crepes, pretzels, and hotdogs with sauerkraut and any type of Bavarian sausage you can think of. Be it, Bratwursts, Bierwursts, Weisswursts or Weinerwursts – you name it – they’ve got it all. For a more traditional Oktoberfest experience, you can also order a tasty Bavarian meal inside the beer tents.
Not sure what to order? Grab a half chicken (always cooked to perfection), with sides of Blaukraut (braised red cabbage) and Kartoffelknödel (German potato dumplings).
